Mala is a Sanskrit word meaning "garland". It is also the term for a string of beads that has been used by sages and those with spiritual aspirations for thousands of years. Also called yoga beads, a Mala necklace is used to keep count of mantra repetitions during meditation.
This Mala is made of beautiful ebony wood accented with off-white bone beads. The necklace is 42" long and carved jade pendant approximately 3" in diameter. It can be worn long or wrapped around the neck two times for a shorter version.
