Mala is a Sanskrit word meaning "garland". It is also the term for a string of beads that has been used by sages and those with spiritual aspirations for thousands of years. Also called yoga beads, a Mala necklace is used to keep count of mantra repetitions during meditation.
This Mala is made of beautiful ebony wood accented with off-white colored riverstone beads. It is finished with a bone guru bead and silk tassel made of recycled silk sari. This design is light and can be worn during yoga practice. The necklace is 42" long and the tassel varies slightly as they are handmade but are approximately 4" long. It can be worn long or wrapped around the neck two times for a shorter version.
