Jewelry casting is a process of making jewelry pieces that involves the pouring of liquid metal alloy into a mold. It is usually referred to as lost-wax casting because the casting mold is created using a wax model that is melted away to leave a hollow chamber in the middle of the mold. The technique has been used for thousands of years. Crunchy Diva Designs has used the method to make our exclusive Organic Collection of unique and unusual pendants found in nature.
Pyrite Clusters are made up of Iron Sulfide and they occur in many different configurations. The pyrite cluster used to cast this pendant is from Peru. Pyrite's metallic luster and pale brass-yellow hue give it a superficial resemblance to gold which is why it is referred to as "fool's gold". Pyrite, in it's natural form, is believed to supplement physical energy with the energy of the sun, increases stamina, stimulate the intellect, and protects against negativity.
Antique brass pendant is 3/4" diameter and the brass chain is 17" long.
