Mala is a Sanskrit word meaning "garland". It is also the term for a string of beads that has been used by sages and those with spiritual aspirations for thousands of years. Also called yoga beads, a mala necklace is used to keep count of mantra repetitions during meditation.
This mala is hand knotted using strong waxed cotton cording. The beads are a beautiful 6mm fossil jasper and the strand is finished with a clear quartz guru bead. The pendant is a cast bronze sitting Buddha which was handmade in Thailand. Total length of the mala is approximately 34" and the pendant is an additional 2".
